Summary

The Data Scientist - Machine Learning will develop and deliver predictive models that address business problems by translating business requirements into modeling solutions. The role focuses on building supervised models (regression and classification) implemented in Python and PySpark on the Databricks platform, producing working model artifacts and actionable outputs for stakeholders. This senior role requires clear communication in English and Spanish, strong organization of project artifacts, and close collaboration with business partners to ensure models meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement supervised machine learning and statistical models (regression and classification) to solve business problems.
• Develop model code and pipelines in Python and PySpark on the Databricks platform.
• Translate business requirements into modeling approaches and deliver working model artifacts.
• Perform model validation, evaluation, and tuning to ensure robust performance and actionable outputs.
• Document modeling decisions, code, and results; maintain organized project artifacts and documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs, present results, and incorporate feedback.
• Integrate modeling work into Agile workflows using Azure ADO or similar methodology.
• Communicate results clearly in both English and Spanish to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of hands-on experience as a data scientist or machine learning practitioner.
• Hands-on experience building models in Python.
• Hands-on experience building models using PySpark.
• Experience developing on the Databricks platform.
• Experience translating business problems into modeling solutions.
• Experience with Agile methodology using Azure ADO or similar.
• Experience with model validation, evaluation, and tuning.
• Experience selecting appropriate models and evaluation metrics.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.

Nice to Have

• CPG industry experience is a desirable plus.
